Good morning Year 10!

WiFi issues this morning have not deterred me sending out my email, so do not panic!

I want you think this morning about switching off - I know its something I can struggle to do at times. We've become accustomed to a very different way of working and I know for myself, I'm now often within touching distance of reading emails. Previously, at school, I would have busy roaming the corridors supporting students in our year group or teaching students - instant read & reply wasn't always an option. However, now I have been spending more time indoors then I was ever used to and I have a phone with my email account on it. Its all very close by.

So, I have made sure I give myself time to switch off and I mean that in a literal sense as well. Having lunch ? Turn off my computer & put my phone on flight mode. Going for a walk? Phone is on flight mode. Mentally, I need to know when it's a good time to switch off and so do you. We've all put a much greater focus on our well-being in recent weeks, so its important to give yourself uninterrupted, you time. This includes social media as well - not feeling like you have to instantly read and reply to friends.

So, if you are someone who likes to go out for a daily walk, try putting your phone on flight mode and forcing yourself to take a break. You'll be amazed at the peacefulness it can bring.

Today's Music suggestion comes from Mr Jeffrey: London Grammar with Metal & Dust

- a great album, but that's just my opinion!

As always, take of yourself and those around you,

Mr Jeffrey
