Year 10 Tutor Time Resources

Tuesday 12th May 2020

Good morning Year 10!

I hope this finds you well on this slightly overcast Tuesday morning.

Today is International Nurses Day. A day that I'm sure we all agree is worthwhile in highlighting the hard work that Nurses are doing day in, day out. I know some of your family members are healthcare professionals and will be continuing to make vital contributions to the health and well-being of others. When I hear the front-line stories of what nurses are dealing with and the emotional, physical and mental stress that they undergo in every shift, I am frankly in awe of the work they do. I live with a nurse and I think twice when I have something to complain about in my life - everything seems to pale into insignificance - is it really that much of a big deal in comparison?

What is important is that after today and when things start to ease with lockdown that we don't forget about the ongoing contribution of healthcare professionals or any other profession where people are at a greater risk. Again, I know plenty of your family members will still be continuing to work away from home during this time - do you make sure that they feel valued and give them the recognition they deserve? One small act of kindness can make a world of difference.

Today's request: Please can you share with me your stories of what different family members are doing during this time, I'd love to hear them.
Note: If you click 'reply', no-one else sees your reply, so don't be shy! Its not like I'm asking you stand up for assembly or anything! And I know that more of you read these emails than would to it!

As always, take care of yourself and those around you.

Mr Jeffrey
