Spend Wisely

Good morning Year 10!

I know this week has required a lot of emotional and mental strength for you to be able to adjust, so well done to those who are trying the best they can and trying to establish a routine (I never expected this to happen straight away!). On the bright side, could we ask for better weather? And do we appreciate the weather than much more because of the circumstances?

One of the themes I have been focusing on is making time for yourself. The school work will, at times, be mentally and emotionally draining (a challenge is good!), however you need time to focus on yourself. This morning, I would like you to watch the video and think about you spend your daily 'currency' (if struggling to watch the video, please let me know).

1. Coping Calendar - Stay hydrated, eat healthy food and boost your immune system - It will surprise you how much of an impact being dehydrated will have - it will affect your concentration and overall mood. Get into the habit of always having some sort of drink nearby - if not water, something not too sugary or caffeinated.
2. Tune into your feelings, without judging or trying to change - I was thinking about this the other day. Do you feel less pressure to be someone else, now that you are surrounded be less people? Do you feel less judgment? Have you spent time thinking about what is important to you? In your lifetime, I doubt you will ever get this opportunity again to be able to reflect on this kind of stuff

As always, my best to you, your family and friends at this time.

Mr Jeffrey
