Good morning Year 10!

I hope that you have had a lovely 3-day weekend, with plenty of opportunity to relax and spend time with the people around you.

As you may have been aware, the Prime Minster made a speech last night. Now, I won't go into all the details and I'm sure more will emerge over the next few days, however it gives us scope that things can change if things continue to improve. Think about the hard work and sacrifices we've had to make to get to this point. All the adjustments you've had to make. The stresses you've had to endure.

I think the key message from last night that is if we continue to follow the advice set out, things will improve for us; restrictions may ease and things will get better. However, it is important the we recognise the collective effort involved in all this. On Friday, it was VE Day and it was lovely to see people sitting outside their own houses, keeping their distance, but celebrating none the less. However, if someone decides to not follow the guidance and have a large party, does that mean it's OK for others to do it? What if everyone had that thought process?

This mentally applies to a lot of things - how often are we influenced by what other people are doing, rather than sticking to our convictions? "Oh well, my mates haven't done the work, so I'm not going to bother" or "The went to go and meet up with my mates, so why can't I?".

Remember, if we don't stand firm with this, we risk loosing what we have fought so hard to keep. You will take much greater satisfaction if you can look back at this and know that you did your part.

Keep up the good work and stay positive!

Mr Jeffrey
