OPEN EVENING
We will be pleased to welcome you to the school from 6.30 p.m. onwards. Maps and guides will be available to help you look around the school without losing your way. I am looking forward to speaking to all our prospective parents at 6.30 p.m. and will repeat the presentation at 7.30 p.m. A bell will ring so those touring the school can make their way to the school hall in time for the second session. Parents/carers can thus choose whether to tour school before or after my speech, which, I hope, gives some choice in accommodating individual work and family circumstances.
"The school helps students successfully to develop into well-rounded young people, with an appropriate range of personal and work-related skills to ensure they are well prepared for their future lives" (Ofsted, 2007).
Also acknowledged in 2008-09 by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust as one of the hundred schools in the country for sustained improvement, we remain determined to help all our young people to fulfil their academic and social potential in the caring, secure environment that is the "family" of The County High School, Leftwich. Everything we do promotes learning: learning for life, for citizenship, for employability, for pleasure, learning which maximises each child's life chances in partnership with parents / carers as "co-educators" with whom we communicate extensively.
A flexible, appropriately challenging curriculum, excellent resources, media-rich, with outstanding ICT facilities and a vibrant extra-curricular programme, including visits at home and abroad, create an ethos of "enjoyment" and "achievement", enabling our young citizens to progress with confidence to work-based training, college placements and higher education.
At The County High School, Leftwich, every child does indeed matter.
