Excellent GCSE Results, 22nd August 2019

Principal Matthew Snelson remarked, "From working with and helping to guide the class of 2019, I am delighted that the focus, hard work and dedication the students put into these exams has resulted in the phenomenal success they have achieved. The reformed GCSEs are more challenging, requiring students to study more complex content and face exams that are bigger in number and more complex in their form. I am particularly pleased that every single student is leaving the Academy with at least 6 GCSEs, including in English, Maths and Science, ensuring they are well-equipped for the next stage of their lives. Also of note is that 96% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English, 91% in Science and 90% in Maths. 88% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and Maths. 72% of students achieved a Grade 5+ in English and Maths. 45% achieved a Grade 7+ in English. 27% achieved a Grade 7+ in English and Maths. The success the students have achieved is testament to their resilience and commitment when rising to the challenge. The class of 2019 have been enthused, mentored and encouraged by their caring and talented teachers, support staff and parents/carers. As always, it is a true team effort, the results of which all can be proud of."

Chair of the Governing Body Alison Massey added, "Congratulations to the students and their families on their wonderful achievements. As the Academy moves in to a new phase in its development, all stakeholders should be reassured that, as a caring school should, The County High School, Leftwich continues to prioritise the academic success of all of its students, who are now ready for and excited by the next phase of their lives."
