Connecting You ...

We are currently working with the Local Authority (Cheshire West and Chester) to implement two exciting new IT solutions to better connect you to what's happening in school. Parents who do not have computer and internet access at home may be eligible for support. Please phone 0333 200 1004 for more advice.

Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

Students can already access our learning platform (lesson resources, email and their e-portfolio) from home using Ranger Outpost. Click here to download and run the Ranger Outpost software.* (If your download is blocked, click here to download a zip file containing the installation programme.)

We are currently piloting a new VLE which will replace Ranger Outpost and also offer new collaboration tools such as blogs and messaging all in one internet browser window (e.g. Internet Explorer). Staff and students involved in the trial can click here for access or go direct to vle.leftwichhigh.com.

* This software will only run on PCs running Windows. After installation you will see a Ranger Outpost icon on your desktop. Double-click and enter your school login details.

Parent Portal

The parent portal will give parents live access to the school's data system which records attendance, assessment (grades) and behaviour incidents. This will also work using an internet browser and will be available before September 2010.

Thank you to the large number of parents who offered to be part of a trial of this system. We are now running a limited trial of Year 9 parents. Those who are invited to take part in this trial will receive login details in the post which they should use to login here. The Parent Portal will shortly be accessible via parents.leftwichhigh.com.
