Year 7

In Year 7 pupils have one lesson of ICT a week. Pupils are taught in mixed ability Tutor Groups. Pupils will be completing a different topic each term, each with assessment tasks linked to them. All the topics are supported by our Virtual Learning Environment, The Leap, where pupils can see objectives, tasks, examples and upload their completed work.
| Topic | Overview | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| ICT Housekeeping and E-Safety | Pupils will learn the basics of file management and how to use ICT safely, both at school and at home. | A 'How to' Power Point assessing pupils ability to follow good file management practice. An 'E-Safety' leaflet assessing pupils ability to use Desk Top Publishing software and understanding of 'E-Safety'. |
| Animal Rescue Centre | Pupils will create a spreadsheet to calculate the costs of keeping cats and dogs. Pupils will also learn how to manipulate a database. | An end of unit online spreadsheet test assessing pupils' understanding of basic principles.
